With our guest speaker Lea Elliot, we learned about three ecological principles:
1. Resource cycling: We sampled soil from different spots in the garden and did a worm count to appreciate how nutrients are cycled through the garden.
2. Diversity: We did a short interactive activity to learn that if we want to grow a resilient garden we need to understand what a plant family is.
3. Collaborative relationships: In a train-style activity, students taught each other about
collaborative relationships in the garden and how these relationships help the garden grow successfully.
