We met twice in the garden at the end of the school year, so student groups could present their eco-design projects, demonstrating how the ecological principles that we learned from the garden can be applied to create a more sustainable urban environment. The projects answered the following question:
How would you design a restaurant, house, or other urban system using the principles of resource cycling, diversity, and collaborative relationships to create a more sustainable system?
The results demonstrated the students deep understanding of the ecological principles and their creative translation into design solutions.
